Summer Highlights

I thought I'd take some time this evening to post some shots from the summer of 2010.

I visited Peggy's Cove with hopes of getting some dramatic photos of this world-famous lighthouse. It was a very overcast day with very little prospect for good lighting conditions. I took several shots trying to get flowers in the foreground to add colour but the overall scenes were just too grey. I went to the harbour after the sun  had set and took some shots of boats and fishing shacks under the lights while there was still some colour in the sky. After I finished there, I thought I'd make one more stop at the lighthouse to see what I could do with the remaining light. The resulting image was a ten minute exposure and captured some of the last colours remaining in the sky. I was very happy with the result. There are a couple of ghosted human images just to the right of the lighthouse, which I feel add to the mystique of the image.
